Blessing in Giving – J.R. Darsi

Charity means sharing what you have earned lawfully and ethically with others. Charity is praised as one of the greatest virtues in Hindu Dharma.1 If you are helping a charity that is based in the local community you are offering your time and services to the greater good of your community. Doing so helps build a stronger community and a better world!. Charity work is not without benefits to those contributing, there is a blessing in giving. Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10.2 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” LK 6: 38.3 In addition to the joy of helping others, some of the money you donate to charity is tax-deductible.
